To think that one year ago this week, our non-profit pressed it’s way to host a press conference On Crisis Management for Under-served Americans Impacted by the Transition to Digital Television National Press Club Dec. 15, 2008 Panel.
Even then most people had no idea of the devastating impact of not having communication to the most vulnerable of our communities would feel like.
And even now, a year later and 6 months since the Digital switchover, many still do not have television-viewing and cannot afford cable TV.
Now many other nations globally are making their journey of Terrestrial Digital Television (TDT) or DSO (Digital Switchover). However, they are implementing the process in segments, region by region. Unlike here in America.
Had it not been for the surefootedness of the Obama administration this year, as the FCC implemented critical processes to resurrect the transition it would have been a disaster.
Will share more on this in a later post.
