The DTV sleeping giant has finally awakened. The DTV Explosion has been felt throughout the country. What happened in the aftermath of the DTV analog to digital switch? Lots, you will notice that the national newspapers, radio broadcast and TV stations have conveniently left out any news regarding the millions of Americans that were left dismayed and confused – when no channels, pixilation issues, antenna issues occurred after the switch-off.
Interesting how none of these issues have been reported on isn’t it? This is very similar to the Wilmington NC historic analog shut-off in September of last year – where there said it was a success unless you spoke to the most vulnerable in the area.
To the officials credit the FCC, NTIA and NAB this year have been extremely pro-active in supporting and assisting the underserviced communities not be left in the dark. It was like a new day dawned when the Obama Administration stepped in after January 2009. Had they not been strategically in place – more millions of vulnerable Americans would have been left in the dust.
There are still many major issues with the digital signal – with key network channels not being reliable to be viewed on a day to day basis. More to come later….
