The Transition to Digital Television, a Challenge for Older Adults in the Hispanic Communities
Hispanic Senior Communities Impacted by Transition to Digital Television Video from Denise Rhodes on Vimeo.
During the test marketing to switch from analog to digital television in Wilmington, NC. In September 2008, DeeNice, the Digital Dynamo was interviewed on WWAY in Wilmington, NC regarding her non-profit, The Urban Progressive Foundation and its outreach to the underserved communities.
The Transition to Digital Television has everyone clamoring to figure out how it will impact their lives and pocketbooks. There are millions of disadvantaged and underserved groups that are in jeopardy of not being connected digitally by 2009, this prompted the Digital Dynamo™ to assist as many as possible to get “connected” prior to the Transition to DTV explosion locally as well as nationally.

I have a digital converter box when are they going to be done fixing the singal to get the hd channel throw the boxes.
If you do end up purchasing a flat screen TV, they will have the digital converter box components built into the screen. As for when the signal will be finally perfect running. That I cannot say.
I would like to know where I could obtain the $40.00 discount coupons for the converter boxes? I just moved here recently to this house and I never got to get my coupons for these boxes. Thank you!
Dear Nellie – unfortunately the coupons are no longer available since 2009, however you can go to your local computer store i.e. Radio Shack, Microcenter, Wal-Mart, Target etc. and purchase a box for $50-70. Also, if you do decide to purchase a new TV set, it will automatically have the converter components in the TV. So you would not have to purchase a box. You will still need an antenna, though. Remember to extend the antenna ears out 18″ (not all the way)
Take Care and God Bless! DeeNice, the Digital Dynamo
