The most vulnerable citizens still risk being left in the dark on June 12th when the final shut-off to the analog signal for TV viewers occurs.
As an organization (The Urban Progressive Foundation, a501c3) that has the distinction of being one of the few nationally to begin a crusade for a year to include the excluded underserved communities (seniors, minorities, Hispanics, disabled, rural) in the planning around how the DTV transition would be implemented. Even though great improvement has occurred with the Obama Administration FCC, NTIA efforts to get coupons out, and have digital converter boxes available. 35,000,000 Americans impacted is a lot of folks to all have to re-scan their digital converter boxes and digital television sets on the same day! This must occur on June 13. God help us.
No one is really looking forward to the upcoming transition which will be an uphill battle of biblical proporations.
